Mono vs Stereo Headset

Headsets can be categorized in different manners and today we will be sharing about the mono and stereo headsets. When considering between the two options, the most important question to ask yourself would be where would you use the headset and for what purpose.

For office uses, a noise-cancelling headset would be preferable as it helps to focus on the tasks and block out distractions. Noise-cancelling also enhances the experience of meeting calls through a headset too!

Having a headset would definitely be more convenient than holding your phone to your ear for a call. However, which of the two is the better choice?

Mono Headsets
  • With only one earpiece, you’ll be able to stay alert about what is going on around the office.
  • Furthermore, a noise-cancelling microphone is useful as it cuts out background chatter and allows users to communicate when they are on mute.
  • Where communication is important between colleagues, users who have to spend a lot of time servicing customers through calls can then rely on their colleague when in doubt, to better service the customer.

  • Stereo Headsets
  • Having two earpieces blocks out the noises around you better than mono as both ears are covered.
  • A stereo headset can help you focus better as distractions have been blocked off on both sides.
  • It is not only useful for calls, it can also be used for music or gaming. Especially with the noise-cancellation, you can be fully immersed in the music you’re listening to or the gaming you’re playing.
  • Ultimately, choosing which headset to purchase depends on personal preference and need. Although mono headsets are cheaper, stereo headsets provide other types of benefits a mono headset cannot provide.
